Highlights

US personal consumption expenditures price indexes are the focus with the data due at 10 am ET along with personal income and spending. The Econoday consensus looks for both total and core PCE prices up 0.3 percent on the month for the long-delayed September report.

Also due at 10 am ET will be the preliminary US consumer sentiment report for December from the University of Michigan, a key indicator headed into the holiday spending season. The expectation is for 52.0 versus 51.0 in the final November report and 53.6 in October. That would be better than another decline but still extremely gloomy.
