At 10 am ET, the service sector purchasing managers' report from the Institute for Supply Management is scheduled. Expectations for the ISM services index look for 51.0 for October, up from 50.0 in September. A figure just above 50 would suggest marginal expansion in services business activity on the month. That would be better than the ISM manufacturing index which slipped to 48.7 in October from 49.1 in September for its eighth consecutive month below 50, indicating sequential contraction.
