Highlights
Year-over-year, output was down 0.9 percent, 0.1 percent more than the than May's revised decline of 1.0 percent. This was largely due to declines in capital goods, intermediate goods and consumer goods, which fell 1.4 percent, 2.1 percent and 3.0 percent, respectively. This offsets the gains in energy. Energy grew 7.3 percent.
In sum, goods production grew slightly in June compared to May, but year over year production is in decline. On average, output rose 0.1 percent over the last three months.
