Highlights
At the national level, the best-performing countries were Ireland (52.8), Spain (52.1), Italy (51.1), and Germany (50.4), all of which experienced an expansion of business activities. The weaker performing country was France (49.2), which contracted, falling short of the 50-growth threshold.
The final services PMI for May was 50.5, 0.5 points above th flash estimate and consensus. This signalled slight expansion of service activity. New business fell again in June for the fifth month in a row, which limited growth. Employment continued its modest increase. Business optimism recovered from April's record two and a half year low, to its highest in 2025. However, it remains below the historical standard. Input costs eased, however output charges continued to increase in June.
The Eurozone PMI composite continued to expand in June. Today's data put the Eurozone RPI at minus 21 and the RPI-P at minus 25, meaning that economic activity is overall falling short of market expectations.
