Highlights
The global service index fell to a 14-month low. At 51.6, it is 0.6 points less than January (52.2). This can be attributed to slower growth in new orders (51.4). Employment saw no change in February.
Among the best performing nations was Japan, which was the fastest growing of the major developed economies overtaking the US. Growth slowed in the Eurozone area and Australia while Canada's downturn deepened. Input cost inflation reaches a 7-month high as manufacturing cost inflation rises. It was noted that some suppliers are already raising their prices in advance of potential tariffs.
