Next is Fed Governor Michelle Bowman speaking on the economy and bank regulation at 10:20 am ET at the American Bankers Association Conference for Community Bankers, Phoenix, Ariz.

Finally, Fed Governor Chris Waller is scheduled at 6 pm ET to discuss the economic outlook at the University of South Wales in Sydney, Australia.

On Friday, the president added imported autos to the list of items he plans to tax starting on April 2. He did not provide further details on that one. That followed his directive to his staff on Thursday to propose new tariffs to impose on imports from other countries that would respond to their their tariffs, taxes, and other trade actions the president considered unfair. Markets reacted with relief on Thursday that the so-called reciprocal tariffs would also not take effect until April.
