Highlights
Net sales of Treasury bonds and notes at $15.8 billion were negative for U.S. long-term holdings by foreign accounts. On the positive side were net purchases of U.S. corporate bonds at $5.1 billion, net purchases of government agency bonds of $11.6 billion, and net purchases of U.S. equities by foreign accounts of $114.7 billion.
Among top foreign holders of U.S. Treasuries (long and short-term), Japanese accounts decreased their holdings by $3.1 billion to $1,098.8 billion in November from $1,101.9 billion in October. Chinese accounts increased their holdings by $8.5 billion to $768.6 billion from $760.1 billion in October.
