The BoE has reappointed Chief Economist Huw Pill for a second term. He will now hold the post until 5 September 2027. Pill is normally seen as a good indicator of how the MPC majority will vote although, of note, in today's decision he was amongst the four dissenters calling to hold Bank Rate at 5.25 percent.
