Net purchases of Treasury bonds and notes at $9.8 billion were positive for U.S. long-term holdings by foreign accounts, plus net purchases of U.S. corporate bonds at $17.3 billion, net purchases of U.S. equities at $67.6 billion, net purchases of government agency bonds of $4.2 billion and net purchases of equities of $97.4 billion.
Among top foreign holders of U.S. Treasuries (long and short-term), Japanese accounts cut their holdings by $10.6 billion to $1,117,7 billion in June from $1,128.3 billion in May. Chinese accounts increased their holdings by $11.9 billion to $780.2 billion from $768.3 billion in May.
