In Italy, confidence in both manufacturing (89.5 after 88.6) and the household sector (97.0 after 96.5) is expected to improve in April from March.
In the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) monthly survey of the manufacturing sector, the headline orders balance is expected to rise to minus 15 percent in April from minus 18 percent in March, when it rose from minus 20 percent in February.
US durable goods orders are forecast to rise 2.3 percent on the month in March on top of a 1.3 percent rise in February that saw wide gains. Excluding transportation, orders are seen up 0.3 percent in March, with core capital goods, which jumped 0.7 percent in February, expected to rise 0.2 percent.
Canadian retail sales in February are expected to edge up 0.1 percent on the month, led by autos, in line with Statistics Canada's advance estimate, after falling 0.3 percent in January.
South Korea's GDP is expected to grow 0.6 percent on quarter in the January-March period after increasing at the same pace in the previous quarter. From a year earlier, the economy is expected to post a 2.4 percent expansion after a 2.2 percent rise previously.
