US new jobless claims in the March 9 week are expected to hold little changed, at 215,000 versus 217,000 in the prior week.
Producer prices in February are expected to rise 0.3 percent on the month to match January's 0.3 percent rise. The annual rate in February is seen at 1.2 percent versus January's 0.9 percent. Excluding food and energy prices, producer prices are seen up 0.2 percent on the month, slowing from a 0.5 percent rise.
Retail sales in February are expected to rise 0.7 percent versus January's much weaker-than-expected decline of 0.8 percent. Excluding autos, sales are expected to rebound 0.4 percent after falling 0.6 percent. Excluding both autos and gasoline, sales are seen up 0.2 percent following a 0.5 percent drop.
Business inventories in January are expected to rise 0.3 percent on the month following a 0.4 percent rise in December that reflected a strong build for retailers.
Canadian manufacturing sales in January are expected to rise 0.4 percent after falling 0.7 percent in December that, however, followed a 1.5 percent rise in November.
