Highlights
Survey respondents reported smaller declines in output, new orders, and new export orders in March but a small fall in payrolls after increases in each of the two previous months. Despite this current weakness in conditions, the survey's measure of business confidence shows that respondents expect output to increase over the next twelve months at the fastest pace since 2021. Respondents reported a smaller increase in input costs and a third consecutive reduction in selling prices.
