Clare Lombardelli will succeed Ben Broadbent as the next Deputy Governor for Monetary Policy (DGMP) at the BoE. Broadbent has been a broadly neutral member of the MPC and so seen as a useful guide to how the majority might vote.

Lombardelli, currently Chief Economist of the OECD, will take up her new role at the start of July, ahead of what will be her first MPC vote on 1 August.
