Highlights
June's monthly advance reflected a 0.9 percent gain in purchases of food, drink and tobacco and a larger 1.7 percent jump slide in non-food sales, excluding auto fuel. Auto fuel was also up 0.9 percent.
Today's update means overall volumes last quarter rose 0.3 percent versus the January-March period and so made a positive contribution to GDP growth.
