North American markets are open after their Good Friday holidays but the data calendars are thin.

In Asia, the Bank of Korea is expected to maintain the Base Rate at 3.50 percent after standing pat at its previous meeting in February and raising the policy interest rate by 25 basis points to 3.50 percent from 3.25 percent. Inflation is likely to continue to be above the 2 percent target throughout the year but it is projected to gradually decrease, the bank said in February.

China's consumer price index is forecast to show a 1.1 percent year-over-year increase in March, up slightly from a 1.0 percent gain in February. China's CPI has come in below Econoday's consensus the last five reports.

Producer prices in China have been in contraction the last five reports. March's consensus is a 2.4 percent fall on the year versus, sharper than the 1.4 percent drop in February.
