Derived Data Services Reporting Feature

The Data Services Portal provides automated reporting for Licensees of CME Group Information for the purposes of providing derived data products and/or services to their clients. These services include creating, distributing, maintaining, or providing derived products, such as CFDs, indexes, OTC products, quotes, spot prices, and other leveraged products.

Derived Data Licensees have the right to create products and may have reporting obligations, as well. These reports include Licensees' clients, service types, services, and the CME Group instruments used to create the products their clients are in receipt of.

For reporting purposes, CME Group classifies a Client receiving a Licensee's leveraged product as follows:

  • API Client: a Client in receipt of a Licensee's leveraged product to display on that Client's own trading platform.
  • API Redistribution Client: an API Client who further distributes a Licensee's leveraged product to their own API Clients for display on their own trading platforms.
  • White Label Client: a Licensee’s Client who takes the leveraged products to display on a Licensee-controlled site, which is rebranded on behalf of their Client.

If Licensees have derived data product reporting obligations, these are displayed on the following Reporting page sections under the Reporting > Location and Service Reporting tab:
