During 2015, our members and employees provided more than 2,700 hours of volunteer service to local nonprofit organizations in Chicago, New York, London, Singapore and Belfast through Amicus, our community outreach program. Partner agencies included Hephzibah House, House of the Good Shepherd, Inspiration Cafe, Salvation Army Emergency Lodge, New York Battery Park Conservancy, New York Henry Street Settlement, Children's Hospital at the Royal London, Lambeth College, Singapore Children's Society and Marie Curie. In the fall, we sponsored our inaugural campaign to raise awareness and funds to fight cancer. More than $250,000 was raised to benefit Bright Pink, Cancer Research UK and Movember Foundation.
CME Group also entered the 11th year of its adopted school relationship with Washington Irving Elementary School in partnership with Chicago Public Schools. CME Group volunteers participated in a number of service projects in 2015 designed to enrich the educational experiences of the Washington Irving students, thus helping assure the success of tomorrow's leaders. CME Group also continued its partnership for a sixth year with New York City Public Elementary School 277 (PS277) in the South Bronx, supporting the school's programming through in-kind donations and educational field trips.
The CME Group Community Foundation provides charitable grants focused on meeting the needs of the global communities in which we live and do business, as well as disaster relief. The foundation provides support to three primary areas of concern: children in need, education, and health and human services. Through a matching gift program, the foundation also funds many worthwhile charitable organizations that are important to the CME Group community.
The company also provides non-financial support to the CME Group Foundation. The CME Group Foundation works to advance the economy by supporting education from cradle to career through partnering with school districts, charter networks, universities and nonprofit organizations, primarily in the Chicago region.
