User / Firm Administration

Using the User Administration self-service function, authorized firm administrators can manage clearing and non-clearing firm-wide user access to applications and services, including the functions and processes users can operate.

User rights and permissions assignment begins with the Entity Officer who has direct contact with CME Group's Global Account Management. The Entity Officer entitles their company's Front / Middle / Back Office Admin Manager who can designate and Application Administrator to manage user application permissions.

Functions

  • Customer Center Administrator: Users with Admin Manager or Application Administrator roles can perform entity-wide application administration.
  • Application entitlements are assigned to users in a self-service model.
  • Request Center: Manage entity requests in a self-service model.
  • CME Group Login: A related service for managing user profiles and application authentication. (e.g. sign on, forgotten user name / password). A profile must be registered prior to entitlement assignment.

Accessing User Administration

  1. To access User Administration:
  2. From the Customer Center menu, select Administration > User Administration.

  1. On the Search Entitlements page, the following options are available:
  1. Search Entitlements: Search existing users, to view or manage entitlements.
  2. Add Entitlement: Add application entitlements for one or more users.
  3. Add Application Admin: Users with Admin Manager entitlements can delegate the Application Administrator role, which enables users to perform administrative duties on the firm's behalf.

Searching Entitlements

Searching entitlements is the function to view and manage user entitlements.

Prior to adding users or entitlements, perform a search and verify currently assigned firm and user entitlements.

  1. From the User Administration page > Search Entitlements pane, enter criteria:
  • Entity - The clearing firm, designated on the CME Customer Center Self Service Agreement, at which the user will be entitled.
  • Application - Self-service user administration applications.
  • Profile - Based on assigned entitlements for all available applications, firm-wide.
  • Status
  • User - CME Group Login User ID, Name, Email address.

Fields are optional and partially entered criteria return all matching results.

  1. To view matching results, select Search.

  1. Select User: To view additional options, select the User.

Available options:

  1. Add Entitlement
  2. Copy Entitlements: Prior to copying, the new user must have a valid CME Group Login. Select the User and Profile, which applies the selected user's entitlements for the new user.

  1. Revoke All: Revokes all FirmSoft user entitlements.
  2. Export to Excel
  1. Expand Scope (): Lists individual entitlement details.

  1. User Actions:
  • Revoke ()

Select, then confirm the deletion / revocation.

  • Edit (): In the Edit Entitlement window that appears, expand the user's entity entitlement to view and edit assigned privileges.

After making updates, select Save.

Note: Entities cannot be edited from this screen.
To change the entity, delete the user entitle and create it again.
