Variable Storage Rates (VSR)
Variable storage rates (VSR) are market-based mechanisms used to determine the maximum allowable storage charges for outstanding wheat shipping certificates. When spreads are near financial full carry, VSRs trigger higher maximum allowable storage charges that allow wider spreads; when spreads are narrow or inverted, VSRs trigger lower maximum allowable storage charges.
