Live Cattle futures rose $2.04 to settle at $230.80, marking a fourth consecutive week of gains. Feeder Cattle futures also saw significant strength, gaining $4.80 for the day to finish the week up $5.32. Market participants analyzed a Cattle on Feed report showing placements at 88.4%, which came in below analyst expectations. Wholesale box beef prices remained firm, while daily slaughter totals reached 472,000 head for the week, slightly lower than the previous year.
