CME Direct R-Cross and C-Cross Optionality

Coming soon, CME Direct will offer the flexibility to choose between CME Direct R-Cross (RFQ + RFC Cross) and C-Cross (Committed Cross) protocols when submitting a cross for specific markets is available. Initially this feature will be available for Agricultural options only.

From the Add Cross window, a Type drop-down menu is available for eligible products. If a product only allows one cross type, the Type box will display that protocol, but no other options will be available.

 

The Type box defaults to the existing allowed cross protocol. The personal default can be modified from the CME Direct Preferences menu. From the User Preferences > Cross Entry option, choose:

 

CME Direct automatically applies the required Request for Quote (RFQ) and / or wait times mandated by each specific market and crossing protocol.
