Getting Started

CME Account Manager® provides Clearing Members with an application to create accounts and manage risk settings for Clearing and Executing firm users that trade via CME ClearPort and CME Globex.

Following is an overview of all functions, selectable from tabs. Availability is based on assigned user entitlements:

  • Admin Settings: View and configure firm-wide Inline Credit Controls (ICC) policy settings and notifications alerts.
  • Limits monitoring: As the default start page, clearing and trader administrators can view summary account level credit usage against permissible limits.
  • Accounts: Search, create, edit clearing and trading firm accounts.

Authorized users can designate trading platform / venue, execution firm relationships, market permissions, permissible products and broker firms that can operate an account.

  • Credit Controls: Configure account pre-execution position and currency limits; including permissible order quantity.
  • Inline Credit Controls: Optional, pre-trade risk management capability, that allows Clearing Member and Executing Firms to set daily position limits for CME Globex, per product, at the account level. Orders are evaluated and processed on an in-line, pre-execution basis.
  • Account Groups: View and create Cross Venue account groups; constituent accounts, group limits, primary clearing firm and thresholds (of overall limits) that the clearing firm administrator is notified.
  • User & Firm Limits: View and manage maximum quantity per order and order acceptance criteria, in relation to the current price and allowable price band variation.
  • Audit Trails: View firm and account activity details, that affect accounts, risk settings, products and venues / trading platform.
  • Upload: Upload a spreadsheet to create or update multiple Accounts, Credit Controls, User / Firm Limits, Alert Notification, allowable Trade Types.
  • Mass Quote Protection: Configure Instrument Group or Product Line exposure values that will cancel or reject affected orders.
  • Trade Type Restriction: Restrict the ability of CME ClearPort enabled firms and accounts to submit block trades.
