Please be advised that the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. will launch eight (8) new peak monthly and daily electricity futures contracts for the Texas market which will be cash settled. These contracts will provide additional monthly and daily risk management for the day-ahead market in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT). These contracts will settle on ERCOT Broker Indices published by SNL Energy. The ERCOT Broker Index is a next-day ERCOT index based on transactional information from OTC energy brokers Amerex, ICAP, and Prebon.

The new contracts will be listed for execution on the NYMEX ClearPort® Trading and Clearing systems during regular NYMEX ClearPort® hours. Contract days listed will be the peak days remaining in the current month and the following month. All the new contracts will be initially listed for trading and clearing at the beginning of NYMEX trade date March 10 (i.e. at 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 9). The first listed month for all monthly contracts will be April 2008 and the first daily contract will be March 10. All monthly ERCOT contracts will have 36 consecutive contract months with the exception of the ERCOT Broker Seller’s Choice Index Peak Contract which will only be listed through November 2008.

The chapters setting forth the terms and conditions of the new futures contracts will be available in the Exchange’s online rulebook. Margins, position limits, and fees will be announced in separate notices.

Contract Unit: 800 MWh. The monthly transaction size is restricted to whole number multiples of the number of peak days in the contract month.
