| 2008 FIA and Industry-Wide Disaster Recovery Test |
|---|
| The CME Group NY (NYMEX) will again be taking part in the fifth annual industry-wide
disaster recovery test event planned for October 25, 2008. The exercise will also
include the participation of several other exchanges for this event. Importantly,
although the CME Group offices in Chicago and in NY (NYMEX) are coordinating our
test efforts, the firms should coordinate separately with the NY and Chicago locations in
similar fashion to last year's test. To continue improving the emergency
preparedness capabilities of the Exchange and clearing member firms, your firm
is encouraged to participate in this event.
Registration for this test is required. A centralized registration process has been created for this test and is available online at the Futures Industry Association website. Information from the participating exchanges regarding the test, test protocol, and test plans will also be available at this centralized location. So, please register and check back frequently for updates. Finally, a list of those firms registered for the test will be used to communicate any updates with test participants during the test, and also to create test trades for the participants. Unregistered test participants might not receive alerts and updates during the test, and they will likely not receive test trades or end-of-day test generated clearing data in their reports and data files. They may however, be able to upload and download the previous day's PCS and Larger Trader files. Additional important information: A central repository for information regarding this event is online at http://www.futuresindustry.org/business-continuitydisaster-recovery.asp.
