Listing for Trading and Clearing of New NYMEX Certified Emission Reduction (CER) Options Contract
In connection with the recently-announced Green Exchange initiative, beginning on Sunday evening, April 20, 2008 (for trade date April 21, 2008), the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. will list a new Certified Emission Reduction (CER) Options Contract. This contract will be listed for trading on the NYMEX trading floor during regular floor trading hours. In addition, transactions executed off-Exchange may be submitted for clearing via NYMEX ClearPort® Clearing.

The CER Option Contract (trading symbol VG) is a European-Style option that exercises into the underlying CER Futures Contract. The option expires three (3) business days prior to the expiration of the underlying CER Futures Contract. The minimum price fluctuation is €0.01 (1¢) per metric ton. There will be ten (10) strike prices in increments of €0.50 per metric ton above and below the at-the-money strike price. This contract is priced in Euros.

The initial contract months to be listed will be December 2008, March 2009, June 2009, September 2009, December 2009, March 2010, June 2010, September 2010, December 2010, December 2011, and December 2012.
