Decorum on the Trading Floor
Members, Employees of Members, and Exchange Staff are reminded that proper decorum on the trading floor must be observed at all times. Rule 6.60(E) states:
No Member, nor any other person within jurisdiction of the Exchange, shall engage in any conduct subversive of good order or decorum or which interferes with the personal comfort or safety of others or shall violate any Rules, Regulations or Resolutions adopted by the Board which relate to the conduct or attire of those on the premises of the Exchange.
Dignitaries frequently visit the trading floor. These include political figures, news commentators and other persons of note who show an interest in our markets. With the upcoming Presidential race, such visits will become more and more routine. The Exchange will not tolerate treating any visitor to the Exchange with anything other than courtesy.

Use of offensive language or conduct subversive of good order reflects poorly on the professionalism of each and every Member of the floor community and is detrimental to our reputation as an Exchange. Further, it is a violation of Rule 8.55 to commit an act detrimental to the Exchange. The Floor Committee can and will issue fines for violation of the decorum standard noted above. Further, if the conduct is of a magnitude more appropriately addressed by a disciplinary action, a disciplinary case will be instituted.
