Listing of the NYMEX iPort™ 3-2-1 Plus Energy Index Futures Contract on CME Globex®
The New York Mercantile Exchange announced today that it will list the NYMEX iPort 3-2-1Plus energy index futures contract across all Exchange-trading venues beginning on Sunday evening, January 21, for the trade date of January 22, 2007. The 3-2-1 Plus energy index futures contract will offer market participants broad energy sector coverage at a single price utilizing a single trading vehicle. The index is based on underlying futures and is constructed by combining the values of 3 light sweet crude oil contracts, 2 RBOB gasoline contracts, 1 heating oil contract, and 1 natural gas contract. This combined value is divided by a factor of 10 in the spot futures contract to create the NYMEX 3-2-1 Plus Index. The Exchange will list six consecutive months for the NYMEX 3-2-1 Plus index futures contract, beginning with the March 2007 contract month, under the commodity code WX. The contract will be listed for EFS transactions on NYMEX ClearPort®, as well as for trading on the NYMEX trading floor and CME Globex® electronic trading platform.
