New York Mercantile Exchange to Sponsor the Energy Management Institute for Europe-Based Education Program
The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., in association with the Energy Management Institute of New York, (EMI) has developed a new partnership to provide education and training to the European energy and metals community.

The New York Mercantile Exchange and the Energy Management Institute provide the highest quality education and training to promote market awareness through courses in hedging and trading utilizing futures and options contracts. The courses will help market participants, including producers, suppliers, distributors, end-users and investors, to more efficiently utilize the Exchange to trade and hedge their price risks.

"The Exchange's partnership with Energy Management Institute has produced highly successful educational programs in the U.S. among energy and metals market professionals. Expanding this same high-quality training to the European community is a natural next step for the Exchange and EMI," said NYMEX Europe Chairman Roy Leighton. "These new programs exemplify our commitment to helping global market participants meet the challenges of today's unpredictable and competitive world markets."

"We're very excited by the opportunity to strengthen our alliance with the Exchange and to expand our educational programs to the European community," said Dominick Chirichella, partner at EMI. "Relevant expert training has never been more important to those seeking success in the world's increasingly volatile energy and metals markets. Our new Europe-based courses now put this critical training in reach of the global community."

The NYMEX-sponsored EMI courses will be held in London and Geneva. The programs will focus on risk management and its impact on trading and hedging strategies and, ultimately, profit in the energy and metals markets. Courses scheduled for 2006 currently include:
