NYMEX Floor Trader Registration for Electronically Executed Trades to Reflect in NYMEX ClearPort® TMS Positions Screen
Effective March 27, 2006, NYMEX will offer the optional service of updating the positions of NYMEX Floor Traders on the NYMEX ClearPort® Trade Management System (TMS) with electronically executed trades not directly executed on the Exchange's systems.

The clearing of trades into proper accounts is completely unaffected by these offerings. This optional registration is purely to expand the use for floor traders of the NYMEX ClearPort® TMS screen as a position management tool for trades executed both through Open Outcry and through the exchanges electronic trading venues.

There are two separate components to this offering, one for CTI type 1 trades directly executed by the trader on a third-party system (such as an ISV system), and the other for CTI type 3 trades executed by another broker either on a third-party system (for NYMEX ClearPort® Trading or NYMEX ACCESS®), or through the NYMEX ACCESS® front end.

In order to take advantage of either of these optional services, Floor Traders must contact their Clearing Member for proper registration.
  • For Type 1 trades, Clearing Members must register the connectivity information (specifically the FIX SenderCompID and SenderSubID) for each NYMEX Floor Trader for whom they guarantee and/or for whom they facilitate the order routing through their FIX Connection to have the trades over those connections reflected in the positions of those traders. Once this registration is complete, all trades (regardless of CTI) on electronic orders for that connectivity will have the Floor Trader's alpha badge as the executing broker on the trade, instead of the "electronic firm code" that is normally the executing broker on such trades.

  • For Type 3 trades, a Clearing Member must register any accounts desired to be used for this service with the Exchange as belonging to a specific Trader in Account Manager, and those registered accounts must be specified on any CTI 3 orders placed by another broker on the behalf of the broker wishing to have their positions reflected in TMS as Type 3 positions.
Trades currently reflected in the traders' positions as Type 1 trades directly executed on the NYMEX ACCESS® front end will continue to reflect in the Traders' positions in the current manner.

Clearing Members should inform traders as to when registration has taken place, so it will be known when the positions are properly reflected.

If you have any questions regarding the registration for this service, please contact the NYMEX Customer Support Center at 1-800-438-8616 or custcare@nymex.com.
