| NYMEX Local Trader Assistant (LTA) Program | |||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| An interim program is being rolled out for the local community on the NYMEX floor. Its goal is to provide technical and strategic assistance to floor members who trade solely for their own account (i.e., dual traders will not be eligible to participate) relative to participating in the side by side trading environment. The program will provide locals with concurrent access to the cash market and the physical market. As a condition for approval to participate in the program, Local Trader Assistants will be required to be physically located and hard wired in an approved booth location on the trading floor. The Special Transition Committee will review, on a daily basis, the utility of the program as market conditions develop to optimize its use. Accordingly, participation policies will be subject to change.
Registration Requirements: Local Trader Assistants must have completed the Floor Broker or Clerk Training Course and must be registered as a Local Trader Assistant/Clerk to the NYMEX Member he/she will be assisting. Approval Process: The Member as well as the Local Trader Assistant applicant must submit the attached application to the Membership Department. The Membership Department will review the applications, proposed booth location, trading history of the Member, among other things to determine whether the Member and LTA applicant is eligible for participation in the program.
