New Gold & Silver Facility for Scotia Mocatta Depository
The Exchange proposes to amend the following Supplements: No. 1, "Licensed Depositories and Weighmasters for Gold" of the Gold Futures Contracts. No. 1, "Licensed Depositories and Weighmasters for Silver" of the Silver Futures Contracts. The proposed amendments add the Bank of Nova Scotia's Scotia Mocatta Depository, Inc. ("SMD") vault facility located at 230-59 International Airport Center Boulevard, Building C, Suite 120, Jamaica, New York as a Licensed Depository for the storage of gold and silver deliverable against the Exchange's Gold and Silver Futures Contracts. The proposed amendments affect a "Special Matter" under the terms of the COMEX By-Laws. Accordingly, COMEX Division Members have ten (10) days to submit a petition signed by owners of at least 155 COMEX Division Memberships requesting a vote of the COMEX Division Members to disapprove the amendments, pursuant to the procedures set forth under COMEX By-Law 205(D). If a petition is not received, or if the amendment is not disapproved, the proposed amendments will be submitted to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). After CFTC approval, the Exchange membership will be notified of the effective date of the amendments. A copy of the proposed amendments is available here
