| Suggested Registration by Clearing Members of Certain Log-In Information in Relation to Electronic Trade and Position Reallocations via TMS |
|---|
| Background
A Clearing Member guarantee is required for each User who establishes its own gateway using the FIX protocol to the CME Globex® (Globex) electronic trading system. Once a trade is executed in a NYMEX contract listed for trading on Globex, the trade data will be routed electronically to the Exchange's Trade Management System (TMS). The trade data available in TMS can be accessed by Members and Member Firms and others to check on and confirm trade information and also to reallocate trades and positions. However, if a Clearing Member does NOT register such a "trader" with NYMEX, all of the trader's orders through their Clearing Member's ISV FIX Connection instead will contain in the TMS system only the Clearing Member's Broker Code. Accordingly, the Exchange is recommending registration with NYMEX of certain information in order to enhance the effectiveness of the application of TMS to electronic trading. (Although this registration process also could be undertaken for NYMEX ACCESS®, for convenience this notice will focus solely upon the application to Globex.) Recommendation For Clearing Members who guarantee traders who regularly access TMS to check on trades, the Exchange strongly encourages such Clearing Members to register certain Globex log-in information for such traders they guarantee to claim ownership of their trades. Clearing Members must register Traders by providing the Trader's SenderSubID/Login ID for these traders to do the following:
2) For CTI type 3 trades executed by another trader (through, GLOBEX Trader front end or on a FIX connection to NYMEX ACCESS® or Globex Trader), if the order is placed with a properly registered account and a CTI of 3C or 3H, that side of the trade will enter TMS with the registered trader as the "Trader 3" on the trade, which will again reflect in that trader's positions. To register an account for a trader, that trader's clearing member must: a) Complete the registration form, and check the "Enable Trader 3 Functionality" box. This will allow NYMEX Customer Service to register the trader as their own "electronic firm" in the NYMEX systems.Clearing Members should inform traders as to when registration has taken place, so it will be known when the positions are properly reflected. To register, please download and complete the form available here (in PDF format). Please submit all completed registrations to NYMEX Customer Service at 212-301-4751.
