Announcement of Start Date for Use of Registered Wireless Handheld Devices for Electronic Trading of NYMEX miNY™ Contracts on NYMEX Division Trading Floor
As background, the Exchange Board of Directors recently approved the use of wireless handheld devices for electronic trading on the NYMEX Division Trading Floor. Subsequently, Exchange staff focused upon coordinating service vendors providing demonstrations on their handheld products, upgrading the wireless network provided by the Exchange and registering NYMEX Floor Members for use of this wireless network. The Exchange has completed the upgrade on this wireless network and can now support use of a wireless handheld trading device by every NYMEX Division Floor Member.

The purpose of this notice is to announce that Floor Members who have registered their wireless handheld trading devices with the Exchange may begin using their devices for purposes of trading NYMEX miNY™ contracts on Wednesday, May 17, 2006.

Please be advised that use of the wireless handheld trading devices in NYMEX miNY™ products on the NYMEX Division floor will initially be limited to Members ONLY and ONLY from within a NYMEX trading ring.

Please note that clerks, who may be registered/approved for use of an electronic device for purposes OTHER THAN ELECTRONIC ORDER RECEIPT OR EXECUTION, may continue to maintain such devices.

Further, the Exchange is currently reviewing proposals and associated procedures/registration requirements that may provide for use of wireless handheld trading devices by clerks in NYMEX miNY™ contracts as well as future electronically traded contracts. Notice will be provided to the membership and the market regarding any approved programs as quickly as possible.

These restrictions will be strictly enforced by NYMEX Floor Committee and by Exchange staff.

If you have not already done so, you may register your wireless handheld devices by downloading the Terms of Use and application located at http://www.nymex.com/wrless_reg.aspx. Please submit all completed registrations to Floor Operations on the 3rd Floor.
