All About NYMEX miNY™ Futures
NYMEX miNY™ futures contracts will begin trading on the NYMEX ClearPort® Trading system on Sunday, November 20, 2005 at 7:00 PM (EST) for trade date Monday, November 21, 2005. The NYMEX miNY™ energy futures are fractional versions of the Exchange's highly liquid crude oil and natural gas futures contracts. The contracts are 50% of the size of the standard-sized contracts and are financially settled at the settlement price of the world's two most actively traded physical commodity futures contracts.

Methods of Connectivity


Customers can connect to trade NYMEX miNY™ futures via the NYMEX ClearPort® Trading front-end graphical user interface (GUI) provided by the Exchange or via a FIX connection to the NYMEX ClearPort® Trading system.

Trading Hours:
  • Pre-Open: Sundays 6:40 PM (EST) and 2:55 PM (EST) Monday-Thursday
  • Open: Sunday from 7:00 PM (EST) to 2:30 PM (EST) Friday
  • There is a period of downtime for all products from 2:30 PM (EST) to 3:15 PM (EST) Monday - Thursday
  • A pre-open break occurs from 9:30 AM (EST) to 10:00 (EST) AM Monday - Friday for NYMEX miNY™ Light Sweet Crude Oil ONLY.
Clearing Members
As a reminder, Clearing Members must enter accounts into the Exchange' Account (RAV) Manager system and assign:
  • A default account for a Skip RAV FIX connection; or
  • RAV accounts with commodity authorization and risk assessments for trading the NYMEX miNY™ Crude Oil and Natural Gas products
Error Trade Policy
Effective with the November 20, 2005 trading session for trade date November 21, 2005, on the NYMEX ClearPort® Trading system, for purposes of the error trade procedures set forth in NYMEX Rule 11.63, the "no bust range" has been fixed at six (6) ticks for the NYMEX miNY™ Crude Oil and NYMEX miNY™ Natural Gas Contracts.

NYMEX FIX Messaging Policy
By separate notice later today, the Exchange will be disseminating a new Exchange FIX messaging policy that will be applicable to any messaging activity received by the Exchange through a FIX connection.

NYMEX ClearPort® Trading Administrator Manual
Administrators must assign accounts to traders who are connecting to the system via the NYMEX ClearPort® Trading front-end GUI. The manual can be found at http://www.nymex.com/neon_main.aspx

Re-allocations
Re-allocations of trades can now be processed on the NYMEX ClearPort® Trade Management System (TMS) system for firms who are using the FIX Connection and who are also skipping RAV for that connection. During the registration process, eClerk information will be requested.

Registration
To register go to http://www.nymex.com/cp_start.aspx and accept:
  1. Exchange User License Agreement
  2. Exchange Privacy Policy
  3. NYMEX ClearPort® Trading Market Data API Agreement (For FIX Connections only)
  4. Exchange Rules
Complete the registration form with the following information:
  1. Applicant Firm Information User Verification Administrator Profiles FIX Connection Registration (if applicable) indicating:
    a) Remote access
    b) User RAV or Skip RAV
    c) eClerk(s) for Re-allocation of Trades
  2. User Agent Profiles
  3. Additional Information
Upon the completion of registration, receive production user login information from the NYMEX Customer Service Department at 1-800-438-8616 or via e-mail custcare@nymex.com.

Note: As a courtesy to the Clearing Member community, the Exchange also allows manual execution by a Clearing Member firm of the applicable forms, and any such manual execution will supersede any other application that may have been submitted by that Clearing Member.

FIX Connectivity

Certification

Firms must certify prior to production; please schedule a time and date with Third Party Services at 1-800-275-6215 or via e-mail at thirdpartyservices@nymex.com

For firms that are already certified, please connect and test in the certification environment.

In addition, firms that have previously certified and changed their software or gateway also will need to re-certify with the Exchange.

Automated Trading Systems (ATS) Registration
The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. requires the completion and submission of the "Automated Trading System (ATS) Registration Form" along with "Exhibit A: the Automated Trading System Information Form" by any individual or entity that wishes to submit orders to any NYMEX Trading System via an Automated Trading System.

The ATS Registration Form can be found on the Developer’s Dashboard website at https://www.services.nymex.com/ddash/ in the NEON FIX Gateway to NYMEX ClearPort® Trading and Open-Outcry section along with the NYMEX FIX Messaging Policy.

Completed ATS registration forms can be faxed to the NYMEX Customer Service Department at 1-212-301-4751 or e-mailed to custcare@nymex.com.

Pre-Production
Contact Third Party Services at 1-800-275-6215 or via e-mail at thirdpartyservices@nymex.com to prepare for production readiness.

Connectivity
Confirm connectivity via Telnet to the NYMEX production FIX environment.
