EPA Announcement Concerning Unleaded Gasoline — UPDATE
This is a follow up to Notice No. 05- 374 regarding today' EPA announcement on unleaded gasoline supplies.

Pursuant to this announcement, the EPA stated that, in order to increase the supply of gasoline and minimize potential gasoline supply disruptions caused by Hurricane Katrina, EPA is waiving the Clear Air Act's and EPA' requirements to sell summer gasoline, effective immediately, throughout all fifty states, its territories and the District of Columbia. This waiver will remain in effect through September 15, 2005.

In light of this announcement, for September 2005 Unleaded Gasoline futures deliveries, NYMEX will allow delivery of non-VOC controlled (winter grade) RFG with a maximum of 13.5 psi RVP during the period of September 1 through September 15.

Consequently, the RVP requirement for September 1 through 15 as specified in NYMEX Rule 190.03(A)(4) will not be applicable during this period.
