| This is to advise you that the possibility of a strike by employees of the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) exists and has been threatened for as early as 12:01am on Friday, December 16, 2005. Negotiations between the union and MTA Management are ongoing in an attempt to resolve outstanding issues. If a strike occurs the New York Mercantile Exchange will conduct business as usual.
A strike by Metropolitan Transport Workers Union will affect all New York City Transit Authority bus and subway operations within the city. Attached to this notice is the most recent comprehensive listing of vehicle and ferry information, including maps and car pool staging area locations. As of this writing, private vehicles entering the city between the hours of 5am and 11am must have four occupants. This HOV restriction will be in effect Monday through Friday. The exchange will supplement public transportation by offering the following bus/van service for NYMEX and NYBOT personnel only with valid exchange identification: Updates on the pending job action and specific information regarding the operation of the Exchange will be available on the Exchange Web Site at www.nymex.com or by calling the NYMEX Information Line at 1-800-457-5439. NYBOT will also have updated information at www.nybot.com. Additionally, the Exchange will have operational information announced over AM radio stations 1010 WINS and WCBS 880. New York City will also be updating information on it’s Web Site at www.mta.info. Included with this memorandum is an informational packet with important commuter information. Please review the attached material. The information provided in will assist you in selecting alternate means of travel. Busses will be at pickup points at 6:00 AM starting Friday, December 16, 2005 and will depart from the pickup points upon 100% occupancy or by 6:30 AM. The bus service is US Coachways. NYMEX busses will have signage in the front window "NYMEX Charter." Due to the heavy demand for busses, US Coachways may be using their affiliate’s busses (Executive.) Please look for the NYMEX Charter signs which will be displayed in the front window of the bus. Busses will be available starting at 3:30 PM at Murray Street between West Street and North End Avenue for the trip home. Bronx:
