Update on Natural Gas Delivery Obligations
Beginning late last week, on each business day, a panel of the NYMEX Delivery Committee (Committee) has been meeting at least daily to assess Force Majeure considerations for NYMEX's Natural Gas futures contract in relation to the status of the Henry Hub facility operated by Sabine Pipe Line LLC (Sabine). As previously announced, the Committee determined to declare Force Majeure with respect to delivery obligations for the September 2005 NG contract. Exchange staff has been in regular contact with Sabine staff (as well as assessing all other available relevant information) in order that the Committee could have the benefit of the most up-to-date and accurate information possible regarding the Henry Hub facility and nearby areas and pipelines. In particular, the Committee will be re-convening at 3:00 PM for the second time today on this matter. Accordingly, an announcement will be made later today after the close (but prior to 5:00 PM New York time) regarding the status of September and October NG obligations.
