Update on the NYMEX miNY(sm) Energy Futures Contracts' Transition from CME® Globex® Electronic Trading Platform to NYMEX ClearPort® Trading
The NYMEX miNY(sm) energy futures contracts’ transition, from the CME® Globex® electronic trading platform to NYMEX ClearPort® Trading, has been rescheduled from Tuesday, July 19, 2005 to trade date Monday, August 22, 2005.

NYMEX is providing additional time to ensure member firms and other market users have sufficient time to establish connectivity to NYMEX ClearPort Trading and to review and to execute the applicable user documentation.

The September contract month of both the NYMEX miNY crude oil and natural gas contracts will be listed for trading on the CME Globex platform effective 3:15 PM (EST) today.

The transition of the NYMEX miNY energy futures contracts will occur in the following manner:

NYMEX miNY Crude Oil
  • The October NYMEX miNY crude oil contract will not be listed for trading on the CME Globex platform.

  • The September NYMEX miNY crude oil contract will expire on the CME Globex platform at 2:30 PM EST on August 19.

  • The October NYMEX miNY crude will then be listed for trading on NYMEX ClearPort Trading commencing at 7:00 PM EST on Sunday, August 21 (for trade date Monday, August 22).
NYMEX miNY Natural Gas
  • The October NYMEX miNY natural gas contract will not be listed to trade on the CME Globex platform.

  • The September NYMEX miNY natural gas contract will be delisted on the CME Globex platform at 2:30 PM EST on August 19.

  • The September NYMEX miNY natural gas contract will then be listed on NYMEX ClearPort Trading on Sunday, August 21 (for trade date Monday, August 22).

  • The October NYMEX miNY natural gas contract will be listed on NYMEX ClearPort Trading at Sunday, August 21, for (trade date Monday, August 22).
Please note that normally the "Next Month" NYMEX miNY futures contract is listed ten business days before the "Front Month" contract expires. For the transition, the October NYMEX miNY crude oil and the October NYMEX miNY natural gas futures contracts will not be listed ten business days prior to expiration of the September NYMEX miNY crude oil and the September NYMEX miNY natural gas futures contracts.

The October NYMEX miNY crude oil and natural gas futures contracts will be listed and available to trade Sunday, August 21 (for trade date Monday, August 22) on the NYMEX ClearPort Trading Platform.
