| Secure FTP functionality available for Clearing Member Trade File Download via NYMEX ClearPort(sm) |

| Currently, the Exchange supports a variety of methods by which Clearing Members may download or otherwise transfer their files from the Exchange. As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the efficiency of the Exchange's Clearing technology, we are pleased to introduce the availability of an industry standard secure FTP (File Transfer Protocol) site for the downloading of Clearing Member files.
Beginning Monday, October 11, 2004 the Exchange will provide a secure FTP facility for certain Clearing Member files identified below. This facility will be in addition to the Exchange’s existing file transfer support for these files. At the October 11 commencement of this new facility, the following files will be available through the FTP facility as well as through existing methods: Final Member Trade/Transaction Files (NYMEXFMT) Position Pay/Collect Files (NYMEXPOS) Subsequent releases will provide additional file types and inbound functionality through this facility, including: Intraday Trade Files SPAN and daily erosion files Inbound PCS transmissions Large Trader Submissions Metals Deliveries It is important to note that the support of existing file transfer methods, like RJE, will be discontinued in the future. Announcements as to the actual termination dates will be made after all file types are available via the sFTP facility. The attached PDF document provides basic information regarding prerequisites for Clearing Member connectivity for secure FTP transmissions. As an example, the document provides an illustration of the configuration steps for a particular software package, WS-FTP Pro 9.0, but Clearing Members will be able to use any software that is compatible with the connectivity requirements. Connectivity requirements: SSH 2.0 compatible ftp client software. Clearing Members will be required to configure their SFTP clients and provide the Exchange with their public key and source IP address.
