Notice No. 304
08/25/2004
Launch of version 2.0 (FIXML 4.4) of the NYMEX Cleared Trades API
As mentioned in Notice No. 04-88 dated February 27, 2004 and subsequent notices to developers, the Exchange has continued to revise the functional specifications for the roll out of the new versions of the NYMEX Cleared Trades (UTB) application programming interface (API) and Universal Trade Blotter (UTB) graphical user interface (GUI). The UTB API allows Exchange clearing member firm employees and trading firm principals to view their Exchange trading, off-Exchange trading, and clearing activity via subscription and query messages. The UTB API and GUI provide trade and allocation information from the following sources:

1. NYMEX Trading Floor
2. NYMEX ACCESS®
3. NYMEX ClearPortsm Trading
4. NYMEX ClearPortsm Clearing
5. GLOBEX® e-miNY Exchange trades

The Exchange will launch the FIXML 4.4 specification in version 2.0 of the NYMEX Cleared Trades (UTB) API on Monday, August 30, 2004. Version 2.0 will use FIXML 4.4 for publishing/subscribing messages, while version 1.1 will continue to use NYMEXml for subscribing and query request messages. Version 2.0 will have additional request messages and will meet industry standardization.

Version 1.1 was launched to production on Monday, May 3, 2004 and will continue to be supported along side of the FIXML 4.4 version. Documentation for version 1.1 is currently available on the Developer’s Dashboard website.

Trades will be viewable from the UTB API for 5 business days similar to the GUI. If a trade is corrected during the 5 business days, that trade will reflect the most recent information with a new transaction date and time, which will show the corrected trade.

There will be a time delay in the messages for trades going through the Trade Management System (TMS). Trades that occur on NYMEX ACCESS®, NYMEX ClearPortsm Trading and GLOBEX® after the start of a new trading day (see start times below), but prior to TMS rolling to the new trading day will not be available for viewing on the API or GUI until TMS has rolled to the next day at approximately 3:00am on the day corresponding to the trade date.

Clearing Members:
If a trade is executed for a customer account that does not exist in Enterprise Account (eRAV) Manager, only the clearing member will be able to view the trade on the API and GUI. To ensure that trading firm users will be able to view their trades on both the API and GUI, clearing firm account administrators must enter their customer accounts into Enterprise RAV using the existing Enterprise Account Manager presently used to enter accounts for NYMEX ClearPortsm Clearing and Trading.
