The attached
approved amendment to Supplement No. 1, “Official List of Approved
Refiners and Brands” of the Gold Futures Contract is effective Friday,
April 23, 2004.

| The Exchange has complied with regulatory requirements by filing with the Commodity
Futures Trading Commission notification of an approved amendment to Supplement
No. 1, Official List of Approved Refiners and Brands” of the Gold Futures
Contract. The approved amendment changes the production status of the “HOMESTSKE
MINING COMPANY” gold brand to no longer produced. The brand will be marked
with an asterisk (*) in Supplement No.1, “Official List of Approved Brands
and Brands” of the gold Futures Contract indicating that it is no longer
produced. This brand will continue to remain acceptable for delivery since there
are gold bars bearing this brand in the Exchange Licensed Depositories.
