New York Mercantile Exchange participation in the WFAN Radiothon

The Exchange has once again agreed to participate in the annual WFAN radiothon to benefit the CJ Foundation for SIDS and Tomorrow's Childrens Fund by acting as the host of the volunteer telephone bank on Wednesday, May 21, and Thursday, May 22. The CJ Foundation raises money for research into Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and to provide counseling for families who have suffered such losses. Tomorrow's Childrens Fund benefits children with cancer.

The radiothon will begin at 5 AM on Wednesday and end at 12:30 PM the following day. During that period, the telephones will be answered by volunteers in the Exchange's 10th floor board and seminar rooms.

The New York Mercantile Exchange Charitable Foundation will support the radiothon by acting as a sponsor of the evening broadcast of the Mets game and by holding a dress-down day to benefit the two organizations on Thursday, May 22. Consistent with the Exchange's policies, neat, non-ripped jeans with a collared shirt will be allowed. T-shirts, sweat suits, sweat shirts, sandals, and shorts will be prohibited.

A form is attached for any individuals who are interested in volunteering to answer phones during the radiothon. Both the Exchange and the Charitable Foundation would greatly appreciate participation by a contingent of volunteers from the Exchange which would demonstrate the support from the trading floor community of this very worthwhile effort.

WFAN radiothon commemorative button-down denim shirts will also be available for $150, both at the door on dress-down day and through NYMEX Division member Robert Shearman (LMIT).

We apologize for any inconvenience that is caused by our participation in this very high-profile event, but feel very proud to make a difference in the lives of so many families by supporting these two very special causes. If you have any questions, please call Jenifer Semenza, director of creative services, at (212) 299-2433.
