| Migration Customer Accounts Set Up on NYMEX ACCESS(r) |
|---|
| In preparation for the "migration" of contracts listed on NYMEX ACCESS®
to NYMEX ClearPortsm Trading (CPT), which will launch later this year, this notice
concerns the migration of accounts to a new risk management platform.
Currently, Clearing Members manage risks on NYMEX ACCESS® for permissioned accounts by using the NYMEX ACCESS® "RAV" credit filter. However, a separate filter, the Enterprise Account Manager, is used for account activity on CPT and on NYMEX ClearPortsm Clearing. Thus, accounts that are set up for NYMEX ACCESS® must be added into the Enterprise Account Manager database before they can be traded on CPT.
NYMEX ACCESS® accounts will automatically be added to the Enterprise Account Manager by the Exchange in a mass migration of customer accounts. The Exchange has set the date of Friday, September 12, 2003 to migrate all NYMEX ACCESS® accounts to the Enterprise Account Manager. If you do not want an account to be added to the Enterprise Account Manager please deactivate the account desired in NYMEX ACCESS® before this date.
Even after accounts are added to the Enterprise Account Manager, Clearing Member Account Administrators must continue to use the NYMEX ACCESS® account maintenance functionality until the actual migration of NYMEX ACCESS® to NYMEX ClearPortsm Trading occurs later this year. However, any account set up on NYMEX ACCESS® after Friday, September 12, 2003 MUST also be entered into the Enterprise Account Manager by the Clearing Member Account Administrator.
The only accounts that will not be migrated are the accounts that coexist in NYMEX ACCESS® and Enterprise Account Manager. These duplicate accounts cannot be migrated due to unique constraints in the Enterprise Account Manager database. Clearing Member Account Administrators will need to modify the migrated NYMEX ACCESS® accounts only if:
the owner of the account is registered in NYMEX ClearPortsm Trading as a "User"
and intends to trade directly for the account on the trading system, Please note: If an account is owned by a public customer and the granting clearing member is the only broker for the account, these accounts will not need to be modified once they are migrated from NYMEX ACCESS®.
