(1) add the "ALCAN" brand of aluminum produced at the Alcan Inc. smelter in Alma, Quebec, as acceptable for delivery against the Aluminum Futures Contract;
(2) change the name of the producer from Alcan Aluminum Ltd. to Alcan Inc.;
(3) change the name of the Societe Canadienne de Meteaux Reynolds, Ltee to Alcoa Limited. and the aluminum brand produced at this smelter from SCMR to ABCQ;
(4) add the Alcoa Inc. aluminum smelter at Massena (East), NY, producing the "ALCOA" brand;
(5) list as no longer produced the RMC aluminum brand produced by the former Reynolds Metals Company's smelters in Longview, WA and Troutdale, OR and the SCMR aluminum brand produced by the Societe Canadienne de Meteaux Reynolds, Ltee smelter in Baie Comeau, Quebec; and
(6) delist the RMC brand produced by the Reynolds Metals Company smelter in Massena, NY.
Items three through six are a result of the acquisition of Reynolds Metals Company by Alcoa Inc. The RMC aluminum brand produced by the smelters in Troutdale, OR and Longview, WA and the SCMR brand produced in Baie Comeau, Quebec cannot be delisted since there are stocks of these brands in Exchange Licensed Warehouses for aluminum.
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission ("CFTC") must approve the proposed amendments. The Exchange membership will be notified upon receipt of CFTC approval and the effective date of the amendments.
