Proposed Amendment to COMEX Copper Supplement No. 1 "Official List of Approved Brands and Markings."
The Exchange proposes to amend COMEX Copper Supplement No. 1 "Official List of Approved Brands and Markings" of the Grade 1 Copper Futures Contract. The proposed amendment changes the name of the corporate entity responsible for the production of the copper brands formerly produced by Cyprus Amax Minerals Company as a result of its acquisition by the Phelps Dodge Corporation. The proposed amendment also delists the copper brand CCG produced by Cyprus Tohono Corp. as it is no longer produced and there is no inventory of this brand in Exchange Licensed Warehouses. Please note there is no change in the computer code or brand insignia for these copper brands. The proposed amendment must be approved by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
