EIA Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report and Explanation of Survey Methods Compared to AGA Natural Gas Storage Survey
On May 9 at 10:30 a.m. EDT, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) will release its first weekly natural gas storage report. Prior to this, the American Gas Association (AGA) provided weekly natural gas storage estimates. At 4:00 p.m. EDT today, EIA will release a paper which will compare AGA and EIA survey methods and include estimates of natural gas storage for the weeks between March 15 and April 26, 2002. Additionally, EIA will release a file containing weekly natural gas stocks from 1994 through April 19, 2002 that will be used for historical comparisons included in the EIA Weekly Gas Storage Report. A description of the methodology used to develop these estimates will also be included in the file.
