Exchange Announces 2003 Holiday Schedule
The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., today announced the following holiday schedule for 2003:

Wednesday, January 1,* New Year's Day, NYMEX ACCESS® closed December 31; reopens 7 PM, January 1, 2003.

Monday, January 20,* Martin Luther King Day, NYMEX ACCESS® closed January 19; reopens 7 PM, January 20.

Monday, February 17,* President's Day, NYMEX ACCESS® closed February 16; reopens 7 PM, February 17.

Friday, April 18, Good Friday, NYMEX ACCESS® closed April 17; reopens 7 PM, April 20.

Monday, May 26,* Memorial Day, NYMEX ACCESS® closed May 25; reopens 7 PM, May 26.

Friday, July 4,* Independence Day, NYMEX ACCESS® closed July 3; reopens 7 PM, July 6.

Monday, September 1,* Labor Day, NYMEX ACCESS® closed August 30; reopens 7 PM, Monday, September 1.

Thursday, November 27, and, Friday, November 28, Thanksgiving NYMEX ACCESS® closed November 26 and 27; reopens 7 PM, November 30.

Thursday, December 25,* Friday, December 26, Christmas, NYMEX ACCESS® closed December 24; reopens 7 PM, December 28.

Thursday, January 1,* New Year's Day 2004, NYMEX ACCESS® closed December 31; reopens 7 PM, January 1, 2004.

The board also passed a resolution to retain the previously scheduled expiration dates of Tuesday, November 25, for the December 2003 natural gas futures contract and Monday, November 24, for the December 2003 natural gas options contract.

The board also voted to retain the expiration dates of November 24 for the December 2003 gold, silver, copper, and aluminum options contracts and November 25 for the November 2003 gold, silver, copper, and aluminum futures contracts.

The expiration dates for the December 2003 heating oil, gasoline and propane futures contracts will be moved to November 26, since the Exchange is closed on November 28, however, the board voted not to move the heating oil and gasoline options expiration date of November 24.

The board approved moving the expiration dates for the November 2003 and December 2003 platinum and palladium futures contracts and the December 2003 and January 2004 coal futures contracts in accordance with the Exchange rules.

*Early closing on the business day preceding the holiday: Energy markets, including OTC clearing, close at 1 PM. Metals markets close as follows: aluminum and palladium at 12 noon; copper and silver at 12:05 PM; and platinum and gold at 12:10 PM.
