Exchange to Delay Start of Web-Based NYMEX ACCESS® Trading to Allow More Time for Member Preparation
The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., today announced that it will reschedule the introduction of internet-based NYMEX ACCESS® electronic trading to allow more time for member firms to address issues raised by firewall protections and for individual traders to upgrade computer equipment. The transition to an internet-based platform for the system was scheduled to occur on September 3. The Exchange has offer electronic trading on NYMEX ACCESS® via a proprietary network since 1993. The Exchange said that it plans to announce a new implementation date shortly.
