CME Market Data Platform Migration and Testing Session
As announced in Q4 2005, the legacy CME Market Data API (MD API) will be decommissioned next Friday, September 8, in favor of the CME Market Data Platform, the more efficient and scalable market data dissemination system introduced in July 2005. CME MD API can no longer be supported
due to the growth in market data and the resulting need to reduce both bandwidth consumption and message delivery latencies.
All CME MD API neighbors (individual technical connection) will be removed as of end of day September 8. If you require an extension, please contact your CME Globex Account Manager immediately.
We encourage you to ensure that all proprietary and third-party vendor trading applications are upgraded to utilize the new
CME Market Data Platform system by September 8.
Support Surcharges Customers who have not migrated all applications to the CME Market Data Platform as of September 10 will be charged $1000.00
per week, per CME MD API neighbor. This support fee is required to offset maintenance costs incurred by CME to sustain the legacy interface infrastructure.
CME reserves the right to escalate charges if necessary.
Weekend Testing To support customer migration efforts, CME will host a final CME Market Data Platform testing session in the CME production environment tomorrow, Saturday, September 2, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Central time (CT). During the testing session, CME will replay production CME Market Data Platform
messaging for customer testing.
There will be no testing session next Saturday, September 9.
For more information, or to register for the testing session, please contact your CME Globex Account Manager at 312.634.8700; or at +44.207.623.2550 in Europe.
