CME MD API Elimination and Market Data Platform Testing Windows

As announced in Q4 2005, the legacy CME Market Data API (MD API) will be decommissioned on Friday, September 8, in favor of the CME Market Data Platform , the more efficient and scalable market data dissemination system introduced in July 2005. CME MD API can no longer be supported due to the growth in market data and the resulting need to reduce both bandwidth consumption and message delivery latencies.

We encourage you to ensure that all proprietary and third-party vendor trading applications are upgraded to utilize the new CME Market Data Platform system by September 8.

Support Surcharges
Customers who have not migrated all applications to the CME Market Data Platform as of September 10 will be charged $1000.00 per week, per CME MD API neighbor (individual technical connection). This support fee is required to offset maintenance costs incurred by CME to sustain the legacy interface infrastructure. CME reserves the right to escalate charges if necessary.

Weekend Testing
To support customer migration efforts, CME will host CME Market Data Platform testing sessions in the CME production environment on Saturday, August 26 and Saturday, September 2, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Central time (CT). During the testing sessions, CME will replay production CME Market Data Platform messaging for customer testing.

For more information, or to register for one of the testing sessions, please contact your CME Globex Account Manager at 312.634.8700; or at +44.207.623.2550 in Europe.
